Euphoria’s brightest star Sydney Sweeney appears to be in trouble with a swimwear brand for breaching a 2021-made and agreed-upon contract. She was tasked with promoting their Somewhere Swimwear collection and was anticipated to generate over $3.5 million USD in revenue for the company. She did not publish any promotional content for the brand, and they are now demanding payment.
What is The Los Angeles Collective?
The LA Collective is the company that is suing Sydney Sweeney for $4.3 million USD. The company was created in 2016 by CEO Karl Singer and Creative Director Jaynee Silvers as an American online clothes store. They were formerly known as Touché LA but changed their name to LA Collective in late 2018.
Working with influencers and celebrities to build fashion companies and lines, notably for athletic wear, swimwear, and other streams of popular fashion is one of their primary responsibilities. Their alliances with powerful personalities have been crucial to their increasing popularity throughout time.
They have collaborated with a number of well-known personalities, including television personality Morgan Stewart, with whom they launched the athletic clothing line Morgan Stewart Sport.
In addition, they have cooperated with the model Alexis Ren, the media personality Khloe Kardashian, the fashion influencer and actress Olivia Culpo, among others.
They focus on making athleisure clothes, collaborate with celebrities to develop their own brands, and execute all operations in a single Los Angeles factory. Sydney Sweeney signed a deal in 2021 committing to promote their company, however she has not done so.
This incident was first reported by TMZ. Page Six Style received the legal documentation and has revealed some clauses of the contract. PageSix states that Sydney Sweeney authorized the drawings created by LA Collective and then abruptly canceled.
“Sweeney accepted the designs and prototypes of the swim brand, only to “[cancel] the arrangement without explanation or reason.” – Report from PageSix
According to the reports, Sydney Sweeney utilized the brand’s concepts for her own personal use, which she wore in multiple episodes of the hit HBO drama Euphoria.
(Sydney Sweeney) “appropriated the patterns… for her own usage” and wore them in “at least five episodes” of Euphoria.
Cassie’s Notorious Pink Swimsuit From Euphoria
In the fourth episode of Euphoria’s second season, Cassie attended Maddy’s birthday party. Cassie walked down the stairs with a revealing swimsuit, a bottle of wine in hand, and newfound confidence, much to Nate and Maddy’s amazement and attention.
This costume, with its cutouts and straps, was very unexpected for Cassie to wear, but it illustrates her troubles with identity and unrequited love; topics she dealt with ineffectively, causing her to become more unstable. The costume demonstrates her willingness to alter if it means Nate Jacobs will pick and adore her.
Fans have compared what she wore to the attire that the infamous and self-assured Maddy would wear. She wore a hot pink one-piece bikini while she got drunk, danced alone, drank away her pain, and ultimately… vomited up in the hot tub out of pure jealousy.
Frankie’s Bikinis is a beachwear and athleisure business started in 2012 in Miami by mother and daughter Mimi and Francesa Aiello. They have worked with well-known celebrities including Gigi Hadid and Sofia Richie.
Within twenty-four hours following the episode’s debut on HBO, over five hundred persons were placed on a waiting list to purchase the Gemma Suit. Frankie’s Bikinis had difficulty keeping up with the demand. This ultimately led to Sydney Sweeney becoming a desirable candidate for swimwear company endorsements, since she was responsible for the sale of over 500 swimsuits that she wore in Euphoria – therefore the relationship with LA Collective.
There was a misunderstanding that Frankie’s Bikinis was suing Sydney Sweeney, which they soon dispelled with an Instagram message.
Sydney Sweeney and her crew have not yet commented on the situation.
