Angus Cloud, the breakout star of “Euphoria,” has had a remarkable year. After being discovered by the series’ casting director on the streets of Manhattan in 2018, Cloud’s meteoric rise to fame has been an understatement. Since establishing himself as a fan favorite as the laid-back drug dealer Fezco in the HBO Max drama, Cloud’s on-screen and off-screen charisma have made him an instant star. Cloud has amassed magazine covers and luxury paid partnerships with brands such as Ray-Ban, BMW, and Ralph Lauren Fragrances, thanks to Season 2’s average of 16.3 million viewers, as reported by Variety (via Instagram).
According to IMDb, his explosive year has also included announcements of roles in feature films such as “The Line” opposite Chloe x Halle’s Halle Bailey and “Hereditary” starring Alex Wolff. While Cloud works on other projects, “Euphoria” fans continue to discuss his character, despite the fact that Season 2 concluded in February 2022. One Twitter user stated, “Fez in season 2 episode 1 of Euphoria is probably going to be the highlight of the entire series, regardless of how many seasons it ends up having.”
Cloud told GQ he was working in a New York City “chicken and waffle joint” when an HBO casting director spotted him on the street. Cloud is now discussing his new career with renowned actors such as Juliette Lewis, Michael Keaton, and Selena Gomez in a recent Vanity Fair segment about the acting process.
When asked, “What was the most difficult scene you can recall working on?” Cloud recalled his experience working on the 2nd season finale of Euphoria, which was heartbreaking. When we were engaging in the shootout, he replied. “Having to be so emotionally and physically fragile.”
Later, when asked to name a co-star he’s learned from, he mentioned Zendaya, his co-star and fellow Oakland native. “Zendaya taught me a great deal,” Cloud revealed. “I suppose she simply instilled in me a measure of confidence in my abilities.” Teen Vogue reported that Cloud will reprise his role as Fezco on “Euphoria” for Season 3 sometime in 2024.
