Euphoria is an American teen drama tv series created and written by Sam Levinson for HBO loosely based on the Israeli mini-series of the same name. Euphoria follows a group of high school students through their experiences of sex, drugs, friendships, love, identity, and trauma. The first episode of euphoria was aired on June 16 of 2019. Just after the first month of launch, it was renewed for season 2. The drama quickly became one of the most popular and fan-favorite tv series because of its originality of the subject matter as well as a realistic portrayal of different social and personal matters. 1. Sam Levinson (creator, director, and screenwriter of the TV series) has revealed that many of the scenes in the TV series have been inspired by his experiences. 5. Angus Cloud was chosen for the role of Fez quickly as casting director Jennifer Venditti revealed that just after looking at his audition, she was hundred percent sure that they’ve found the right Fezco.
6. In episode 3, Barbie aka Kat sees a really small penis and her reaction is authentic. She revealed that she asked the writers to see her for the first time in the scene so that she could act in the most natural way possible.
7. Jacob Elordi who is playing the role of Nate revealed that when he was doing an audition for the euphoria, he is almost homeless. He said that he had no money and agency to follow him.

Lexie’s role was written by the writer with Maude Apatow in mind and has collaborated with her on Assassination Nation and the casting director was certain about the role with a very clear person in mind. Levinson and Maude already have a great working relationship. He loved her quiet, natural and vulnerable nature.
9. The actress who plays the role of Maddie, Alexa Demie admitted of she would be a part of euphoria even before she was selected for the role. The place where she used to eat sandwiches was called euphoria too and she also dreamed of being Zendaya’s best friend even before meeting her on the set.
10. The scene in the first episode where rue is moving on the rotating room is created with an authentic corridor model which was rotated later on. She moved freely whole other actors were attached to the floor.

Eric Dane wore prosthetics for his nude scene in episode one but he was willing even without one if it would have served the story. Sydney who played the role of cassie revealed that before the filming she tried to extrapolate cassie’s character in the paper and said the diary was full of quotes, art, and lyrics of sad songs. One of the most difficult scenes to shoot was that of luna park at the carnival of the fourth episode, according to the director and casts. It was a large space with over 125000 sq. ft and has rides everywhere and the shooting of necessary scenes took over 6 nights. Zendaya also admitted that the place was so dusty and cold that she required an inhaler. The production team assembled the carnival in such a way that they would fit the actors and shots as they wanted.

Zendaya accepted the role of rue because she thought that the role was completely different from the roles she had played so far and let her think outside the box. She wanted the role which would allow her to express herself beyond what she has already done. The makeup artists of euphoria Doriella Davy revealed that the makeup of each character reflects something in a specific moment and that particular narrative. It represents their feeling and what they are going through. For example, the glittery tears of madie show that she believes in herself but would stop applying glitter after Nate’s abuse. Jules’s makeup was specially designed to be unconventional like her character to externalize the unconventional nature of her. The initial 5 episodes of Euphoria were directed by Sam Levinson and the later 3 are directed by 3 women, Augustine Frizzell, Pippa Bianco, and Jennifer Morrison. Jacob admitted that it was really difficult for him to be mean to Alexa on set. In an interview with Collider, he said that he cares about Alexa a lot and wished that they could have a more good scene where they go to see a movie or get ice cream together. The cast was so excited with the news that they created the group chat to rave about Caprio’s praise of the show. Barbie even ordered a t-shirt with the exact phrase that D-Caprio has spoken to Variety’s microphones. When the show still was relatively unknown, Leonardo himself revealed to be one of the fans of the show. His short speech helped this show reach many other viewers.

Even before the casting Levinson had a vision board that included a number of actresses as well as the picture of Zendaya which showed that the role of Zend
aya’s is decided even before her casting and the show would not have been the same without her emotionally captivating character. Director and creator of the show Sam Levinson made sure that the working environment was as collaborative a possible and he used to have dinner with the cast before the filming and he personally confronted cast members on elements such as makeup, costumes, and their character. Despite seeming like she was made for the role of Kat Hernandez, Barbie Ferreira actually had to audition seven times before she was given the part. The producers wanted to make sure that the show had a perfect cast of actors in terms of both their acting abilities and their perceived chemistry with others.
