Fans start to fight over Jennifer Aniston’s COVID themed Christmas Ornament

Jennifer Aniston sparked a controversy on social media after posting a Christmas ornament themed coronavirus pandemic. The actress famous for her roles in “Friends,” aged 51, published in her Instagram stories sharing new ornament for her Christmas tree. The photograph showed her holding a wooden circle with the words “Our first pandemic 2020” carved into it in an elegant text.

Given the current situation, recent spikes in covid-19 have forced many people to stay in their homes in the holiday season and skip the meeting and celebrating with their family like the past years. Some peoples found the ornaments a bit tasteless and offensive regarding the present situation.

 

Many people have shared their thoughts on social media such as Twitter and Facebook, showing their dissatisfaction regarding Jennifer’s post.

“Just because you like a celebrity doesn’t mean you should not hold them accountable. I’m sorry, but that’s so insensitive to put an ornament saying “pandemic 2020″. Innocent lives were lost because of this pandemic. We’re not going to celebrate this s—. Do better, Jennifer Aniston.” One user wrote in the Twitter feed quoting Aniston.

 

Kaz said on Twitter:

“What Jennifer Aniston (whether the ornament is hers or not but it was posted in her IG) did was tasteless. Whoever made that ornament is an idiot and the opposite of empathy,” after responding to someone who said they were over-rich peoples.

 

“Jennifer Aniston is a damn fool for posting that ornament on her story… celebrities are ditzy af,” another person responded to the controversy.

 

However, many fans also felt that the ornament has nothing to do with hurting others. Many fans were quick to rush in her defense saying. She used her platform to advocate for small businesses and the impacted followers to get positive vibes even in the pandemic period.

Another user tweeted saying, “That Jennifer Aniston ornament was just a satire, and people didn’t get it.”

 

Another fan said, “If you’re upset about her Instagram story on the ornament, let’s not forgot how she helped small businesses in this hard time and urged people’s to wear mask and stay safe in almost all her posts”.

 

Another fan-supported her saying “Jennifer was one of the few celebrities who used her platform extensively to help support small businesses all around the USA even during Christmas eve and she got the hate for one ornament ”

Back in July, She shared a personal story of a friend who dealt with covid-19 to encourage her followers to wear a mask and take this illness seriously.

She posted a story saying “This is our friend Kevin. Perfectly healthy, not one underlying health issue. This is Covid. This is real. “We can’t be so naive to think we can outrun this…if we want this to end, and we do, right? The one-step we can take is PLEASE #wearadamnmask.”

She concluded her post by encouraging her fans to wear masks and stay safe together with them and their family and inspired them to fight this pandemic together.
