Actor Abubakar Salim pleads fans to save Raised by wolves

A representative for HBO Max confirmed the cancellation of Raised By Wolves to Primetimer on Friday. Abubakar Salim, who portrays the android Father, tweeted a lengthy “call to action” early Friday morning, urging fans to voice their support for the series while producers search for a new streaming home.

“Call to action #RenewRaisedByWolves,” tweeted Salim. “It’s not surprising, given the merger news and what’s happening at Warner, that a number of shows have not had their stories concluded.” He proceeded “One of these shows is unfortunately Raised by Wolves. Nothing has been made public yet. There is a rationale for this. An important one. One that I will now share with you. There is optimism.”

Salim went on to tell fans that a storyline has been “fully fleshed out and planned” for the upcoming season, adding, “The reason the cancellation hasn’t been announced is that there’s still a chance the story can continue and be completed at a new home.”

Salim urged supporters to “continue to, and with even greater vigor, demonstrate that genuine love here, there, and everywhere as we search for our new home.”

In a statement to Primetime, HBO said, “While we will not be moving forward with the third season of Raised by Wolves, we are incredibly grateful to the stellar cast and crew, our creators Aaron Guzikowski, Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker, and the entire team at Scott Free Productions for their beautiful artistry and ability to immerse fans in the world of Kepler-22b.”

Ridley Scott’s Raised By Wolves is about two androids who must raise human children on a mysterious, uninhabited planet. As the expanding human colony is torn apart by religious differences, the androids realize that controlling human beliefs is no simple task. The first and second seasons of Raised By Wolves are streamable on HBO Max.
