After portraying Cal Jacobs in “Euphoria,” Eric Dane has received “many” n..e images in his Instagram direct messages. Dane disclosed his relationship status on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM program, “Radio Andy,” on Thursday. While Dane, 49, has confirmed he is currently single, his popularity is at an all-time high.
Dane said, in reference to his Instagram DMs, “Listen, Andy, that is a dark alley I don’t walk down alone.” I receive numerous d..k photos. Cohen, 54, questioned whether Dane received “stuff” from women as well.
“No, I get d..k pics,” Dane continued. “I believe that men now assume that I’m going in the opposite direction, which is fine. I’ve seen numerous unattractive penises. I’ve seen many beautiful ones.”
Cohen added, “I assumed that women were currently throwing themselves at you. Where do you meet women?”
Dane stated that he never meets women because he does not use dating applications such as Raya or Tinder.
Dane told Cohen, “I do not.” “I feel like I don’t ever meet women. “Look, I’m not a guy who uses dating apps, and I believe that’s where the majority of these meetings occur.”
He added, “It’s strange. I am a native of the 1990s, man. I am more of a “how are you?” type of person.
Dane, who formerly portrayed Dr. Mark “McSteamy” Sloan on “Grey’s Anatomy,” plays Cal Jacobs on the popular HBO series “Euphoria.” Cal Jacobs struggles to accept his sexuality while presenting himself as a heterosexual family man throughout the series.
In season two, Cal reaches his breaking point when, after being kicked out of a bar and returning home drunk, he delivers a monologue about his sexuality and double life in front of his family.
In an interview with Hilton Dresden of The Hollywood Reporter, Dane provided insight into Cal’s behavior.
“Cal is living a double life, maintaining a facade of having everything on the outside controlled and flawless, while everything on the inside is an epic battle,” Dane told the outlet. “Difficulties in my past encouraged me to live a life of secrecy. I accepted the invitation enthusiastically… While the particular circumstances may not be identical, the emotions are.”
