Stranger Things 4 Vol. 1 was viewed for 335.01 million hours in its first full week of release, propelling it to the third spot on Netflix’s all-time list of English-language series with 621.80 million hours viewed in 10 days. Only Bridgerton Season 2 (656M) and Bridgerton S1 (625M) are ahead of Stranger Things on the list, which measures viewership during a season’s first 28 days on the service. In the coming days, Stranger Things will ascend to the top spot.
The sci-fi series is also guaranteed to finish at least second on Netflix’s overall all-time list for English- and non-English programming, with only Squid Game’s astounding 1.65 billion hours viewed in the first 28 days standing in its way.
For the week of May 30-June 5, Volume 1 of Season 4 of Stranger Things was the most-watched English-language TV season in a single week on Netflix and reached No. 1 on the Top 10 lists in 91 countries, a first for an English TV series.
Stranger Things dominated Netflix’s weekly English-language television chart. Season 1 ranked second with 75.08M hours viewed, Season 2 ranked third with 58.27M hours, and Season 3 ranked fourth with 47.42M hours viewed. Breakout The Lincoln Lawyer was the fifth most-watched non-Stranger Things title with 42,5 million hours of viewing time.
In addition, “Running Up That Hill” by Kate Bush entered the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the first time in the chart’s 37-year history.
